Sports Update

Hello sports fans! I know it has been three or four days, but don't worry because I'm back in action. The Chicago Bears unfortunately lost to the Minnesota Vikings 21 to 14 and we retained 2nd place in the NFC North. That is just fine because being #1 doesn't mean you're always the best. Maybe you've got one or two key players who are known and the rest of them just go unnoticed. Anyways, the point I'm making is yes, it would have been nice to win, but hey, no one's perfect. I still love you Bears! :) As for academic life, this week is finals and I've been in the Communication lab just making two iMovie's for my media production courses. And over my month break, of coarse I plan on still updating this. I worked way to hard at this blog to stop now and you dedicated readers deserve more interesting posts. Until later from the beautiful city of Chicago! :)

Have a good day! <3

Two Month Anniversary

Today is a special day for two reasons. The first reason being I survived the week before finals with lots of caffeine, sugar, and energy. Two being my boyfriend and I's two month anniversary. You're probably wondering why I want to tell you about this. Here's my logic: we've dated two times in the past and now we're more happier than ever before. The point I'm making is not to give up on any relationship, whether it be with friends, family, or a significant other because you'll never know if you don't try to work it out. Yes, you will have plenty of rough days where you want to slam your head against a wall and scream into a comfy pillow, go ahead and do that without harming the tool you think with a.k.a your brain. If working the problem out takes more effort, then so be it. Relationships with a loved one especially when the love is so strong is worth fighting for. Now here I'm talking to all sports fans and if there is one take home message you can learn from reading my blog: never tolerate a cheater in your life and embrace your life and body. I love you Ronald Wray with all my heart and share some love today. It doesn't have to be with a lover, but the world needs more positivity and love! :) Pass it on and give a friend or family member a hug for me! As always, thanks for reading and keeping up faith when it comes to my blogs posts.

Don't Ever Do This

Animals have feelings and want to be treated as close to being human can get. Don't you DARE toss a dog or any other cute creature in the garbage can. When I watched this video on Yahoo! News, it broke my heart. What drives a person to do this? Are they insane or bored? Do they need to be locked up in mental institution or be arrested? Come on now, have a heart people and love each other and animals. What is happening to this world????? I understand if you can't take care of it anymore due to financial reasons or whatever, but please DON'T EVER THINK about putting any animal out on the street or dumped in a trashcan. Politely drop it off at a shelter or police station. Thank you for not being a complete jerk to the world.....

Calling my Ladies....

Hello again. This is a though-provoking article, in terms of talking about emotions and men. Women are emotional and that is the truth. But how to get men to open up about their feelings is hard enough. This article is for all of my ladies out there, maybe you can use this on your man next time an issue or problem comes up!  :) Have a great day and stay warm!

Sports and Chicago

Good afternoon folks. Today on the train commute to Roosevelt, I witnessed an interesting situation. There were two guys in front of me with Chicago White Sox and Cubs baseball hats and you had me rocking my Blackhawks hat. Across the isle, a guy was wearing Chicago Bulls basketball hat. This proves two things. One is that more female fans need to be involved in sports and two that Chi-Town is a sports loving city. Whether commuting on buses and trains to walking down Michigan Avenue, nothing can take us away from being dedicated to our teams. That is why I love living here because yeah all cities have issues such as homelessness, debt, and violence, but take a look at the bright side for once. This whole phenomenon made me smile and love my city even more.

Oh the memories! :) Good times. "Baby" will always be the classic song that Beliebers remember and it is our anthem besides "Believe"as well. The song "Believe" was written for his the fans who have been there for him since the beginning when he posted videos on YouTube. I LOVE YOU JUSTIN! :) I've seen you in concert two times and next time you visit Chicago, you better bet I'll be there. Keep up the good work!!! <3

Outcome of Game

Well sports fans and readers, as the saying goes, you can't win them all. This proved to be true for the Chicago Bears yesterday. Even though they tied the game in the fourth quarter to make it 17 to 17, there was an interception made and some player from the lame Seahawks caught it and they won 23 to 17. Yes, you can take this loss two ways. Option #1: being pissed off or option #2 learning from the mistakes made and moving on. I am proud of my Bears because we could not have tied it and lost in regulation. Anyways, the Bears are tied with the icky "Slackers" for first place, which isn't entirely a bad situation. My hope is that we can learn and dominate the next team we play! Put your hands up if you love your team, it doesn't matter where you are from. Love your team, city, and where you're from! I'm still proud of my Bears and there is nothing that can change that. I LOVE CHICAGO! <3

- Question: Where are you from and what teams do you support??

Have a good day from the beautiful city of Chicago! :)

Chicago Wolves Hockey - Wolves End Skid With 3-1 Win Over Peoria

Wolves win!!!!

Hello sports fans. Happy Sunday and the weather is 40 degrees in Chicago! :) It's about time and the my Chicago Wolves won yesterday! After a rough loss, 4 - 2, last week to the Rockford Icehogs or little piggies, my team won three to one against the Peoria Rivermen. The Rivermen gave it a good effort, but it was about time that the Wolves show them who is boss. This won broke our losing streak and fans were starting to get upset with the team. Regardless, when a team isn't winning as much as fans would like to, the "occasional"  or "Band-wagon" fan leaves and only "dedicated" fans really stay true to a team no matter what. I am a dedicated fan of the Wolves and Hawks (even though they aren't playing now.... i hope they wiill though) only, no other team and nothing can change how I feel about that. All I'm saying is to never give up hope on your team and to consult with other fans of the particular sport if you're feeling low. A press release from the team will be followed up in my next post. Until later, take care dedicated sports fans and have an awesome week!

Bears Game!

Hello readers! Currently, the Chicago Bears are taking on the Seattle Seahawks at our home turf: Solider Field! Right now, it is half-time and we are down 10-7. I'm not worried at all, because my Bears will pull through! GO BEARS GO!!!!

Loving Your Body

Hello again! This post is geared towards acceptance of who you and everything about yourself. Think about it: who will love you if you don't accept yourself? NO ONE. Yes, you can be the most beautiful girl or guy in the world, yet be very unhappy and hate your life. For example, I am calling every woman out there to stop all the negative self-talk and start saying positive statements about yourself everyday! Especially when it comes to pregnancy, Jessica Simpson is pregnant again and I am so happy for her. She was criticized for her weight and call "fat"! Please you men out there try to carry a nine pound baby and give birth to it! Yeah, this is the point in time, when you are speechless. Creating life is something special and don't ever call a pregnant woman horrid names because you don't know what she's going through nor will you ever know unless your wife and girlfriend have your own child. The point I'm making is no matter what, love and accept yourself. It doesn't matter if you are short, tall, skinny, curvy, young, or old. The truth is no one will love you if you constantly talk bad about yourself and hate everything about yourself. Stop all the negative talk and begin the day with complimenting yourself on one aspect of your body! :) Just trying to keep you dedicated readers informed with what values I think are important. Thanks again for reading!

Chicago Wolves Pregame

Taken from YouTube! How awesome is this! :)

Weekday Game

Hello folks! Today is a great day because the Chicago Wolves have a home game at seven p.m. against Rockford Icehogs or a.k.a the piggies. The piggies are the minor team for the Chicago Blackhawks and no it is not a conflict of interest. Now this is another case, in which, it IS NOT ok to wear Blackhawks apparel to because I support the Wolves more than the Hawks (even if they are not playing now). Yes, I  just support the Blackhawks, but not the little piggies because it is just immoral for a Wolves fan to do that. This all goes back to the issue of not supporting the parent team and support the minor team. Again, if you didn't know the Wolves' NHL affiliate is the lame Cansucks who I've never liked and in fact, am to the point of hating them. I know "hate" is a strong word to use, but it is true. Hawks fans just don't like this team that sucks and it is how it is. Sorry if this pisses off other Wolves fans, but even if you paid me a million dollars, I STILL wouldn't support them. Mainly, it is a difference of opinion and some people may not like what you have to say. Oh well, too bad so sad. haha Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is I love Chicago and only Chicago teams! Even if I move to another state, which I don't plan on doing, this is my city and no one can tell me any different. See you at 7 p.m. Allstate Arena for a match up that should prove to be very interesting! Go Wolves and let's slaughter some piggies tonight! :) Wooooooo!

Thanks for reading! <3

Chicago's Newest and Oldest Holiday Traditions

By  | Yahoo! Contributor Network – Wed, Nov 21, 2012
Beginning with Thanksgiving and lasting through Christmas and New Year's, the holiday season in Chicago is unlike any other and full of traditions. This time of year, the city is full of cheer, fantastic light displays, and celebrations that anyone can see or attend. Don't be a grinch this year; get out and celebrate with other locals!
Caroling at 'The Bean'
Millienium Park, North Michigan Avenue and East Randolph Street, Chicago
Fridays, November 23 to December 21, 2012
This newer tradition is only going into its seventh year, but it is quickly becoming one of Chicago's favorites. Its official title is "Caroling at Cloud Gate," but as Chicago native Drew Carlson puts it, "It's called Caroling at the Bean! No one goes by Cloud Gate, and some residents probably don't even know what it refers to."
This tradition was started by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and has established itself as a must-attend Christmas activity in Chicago. You can become part of this Chicago tradition every Friday beginning November 23 and ending December 21, 2012. Caroling begins at 6 p.m. at "the bean" and lasts for about 50 minutes. You can listen or join in the singing.
Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light
57th Street and Lakeshore Drive, Chicago
November 16, 2012, to January 6, 2013
Over the last 71 years, the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) has put on one of the mostheartwarming Christmas shows. In 1942, the tradition was born when the MSI put up a single tree in honor of the allies of World War II. Over the years, it has morphed into a phenomenal show of lights, concerts, and a 45-foot Grand Tree. This massive tree is adorned with 30,000 lights and 1,000 ornaments and takes center stage in the rotunda. Surrounding this beautiful Christmas tree are 40 smaller trees that have been decorated by volunteers. Each tree embodies a different culture's tradition, which helps residents learn more about their communities and neighbors. If that doesn't sound amazing enough, then you can enjoy some of the sprinkling snow that falls occasionally or catch a concert by a school choir on the weekdays. For the weekends, ethnic groups provide song and dance.
Macy's Holiday Displays
111 N. State St., Chicago
One of the most storied Chicago traditions began at Marshall Field's in the 1870s. Marshall Fields was the first store to ever spread the love of Christmas through display. From that moment, Chicagoans and tourists came each year to see what the store had created for its holiday displays. They also set up a 45-foot Grand Tree in the Walnut Room that is decorated with 25,000 lights and 1,200 themed ornaments. While they are losing some popularity among locals since Macy's bought Marshall Field's out in 2005 and changed the name of the store, the holiday displays are still an iconic Chicago tradition.
Lincoln Park Zoo Lights
2001 N. Clark St., Chicago
November 23, 2012, to January 6, 2013
This Chicago tradition is one that I take my family to every year. For almost 20 years, the Lincoln Park Zoo has amazed residents and captivated tourists. The zoo decorates every tree with lights and sets up large holiday-themed displays. They also have a few pathways that are formed into tunnels of lights.
Beware, it does get packed, and parking is tough. The lights kick off on November 23, 2012, and run every weekend until December 26, 2012, when they will stay on every night until January 6, 2013.

First Place Bears!!!

Hello again sports fans! I've been meaning to write up this post, but it has been kind of hectic as of late. On Sunday, the Chicago Bears played the Minnesota Vikings and won 28- to -10 during regulation. What is even funnier is that the "Slackers" a.k.a. Packers lost 38- to- 10. You don't even know how much it made my day and Bears fans throughout Chicago. I wanted to celebrate with a glass of wine, no make it an entire bottle with my family and friends. I really don't care if whoever likes this lame team has something to say, i don't want to hear them. WE'RE #1!! :) There is nothing you can do about it either because your team sucks and I'm pretty sure everyone who lives in Chicago will say the same thing.

I also wanted to add another action not to take while in my awesome city. Please DON' T EVER WEAR "SLACKERS" GEAR!  I don't think I have to explain why, but I will anyways. They are horrible and can't even play football. You will get the dirtiest of looks and you might as well put a lunch bag over your head and make a shirt saying "My Team Sucks!". Now even if you happen to be my friend or pass by me on the street, don't say hi or greet me or else I will ignore you. It is just immoral and breaking Chicago ethics, so please just don't do it. Thanks for reading as always and feel free to comment. Hope you enjoyed your Tuesday!

Alternative Hats

Hello readers. Today walking to the Gage building, I saw a Detriot Red Wings hat and I was not happy. There are plenty of reasons why this is NOT ok to wear in Chicago and I will tell you why.

Reason #1: The Blackhawks

- This team, I call them the "Deadwings" are arch rivals of my hawks. Don't you dare show your face in that hat, jersey, or any other clothing items with their logo. Save yourself the embarrassment and dirty stares.

Reason #2: Most of their players are old.

- Yes, the argument can be made that older players make for a better team because of their experience level, but younger players bring speed to a team and youth. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with getting old, but not in hockey. There are exceptions when it comes to older players being faster than twenty something year old players if they happen to be in better physical shape.

Reason #3: This is CHICAGO people. Don't tell me it is ok, unless you are visiting our beautiful city and don't TAINT Chi-Town with a hat no one wants to see. Thanks.

- Ok, this one is common sense, but oftentimes common sense isn't used. People just think: I'm going to represent my city or favorite sports team when I travel. Eh, sorry, not in Chicago you're not. Go do that elsewhere please.

Warm Hats in Chicago

Today is the first day after Thanksgiving break and getting up wasn't too shabby. However, I did get half hour of sleep than I normally do and that is perfectly normal to do. Sleep is essential for college students and completed my normal routine, which includes getting ready, toasting a bagel, plugging in the coffee maker, and gathering what I need for the day's classes. After that I take a bus and the Blue Line train to Forest Park, get off at Monroe, and then walk four blocks to the Gage building. Now if I'm running late, then I'll stop at Dunkin' Donuts for a quick breakfast. Additionally, I'll get a head start before everyone gets into the Communication computer lab in GB 509 and check e-mails while sipping on my morning java. Anyways, that is what a typical day involves for me and then you can't forget the Torch meetings on Mondays and Thursdays and then commuting back to the suburbs during the late afternoon. But the typical day will vary depending upon what my planner says. I live by what that says because without it, I'd be the most dysfunctional person on the planet.

My Chicago Wolves hat
Warm hats are necessary in an average Chicago winter and what better way to stay warm and support your favorite team. As you dedicated readers know, I support mainly the Chicago Wolves and Blackhawks ( even thought there currently is no NHL season because adults on the NHL and NHLPA sides can't learn to compromise. They are acting like little children who need a to wake up and realize that US HOCKEY FANS WANT TO SEE OUR FAVORITE TEAMS PLAYING!) Getting back to the point of this point, I typically wear my Blackhawks hat, but also my Wolves hat as well. The point is to stay warm, protect those ears, and rock your favorite sport's team hat. Why not?

Torch Article

- Below is another published article in my college newspaper about Black Friday deals:

- Link to generic website:

Celebrating Regardless of Sandy

"Gjenashaj and her friends chaperoned their five young children at the concert and held up signs for the pop star. "I don't know if this makes sense. Sandy made us homeless and broke but you're our hallelujah," one sign read, borrowing lyrics from Bieber's "As Long as You Love Me" single."

http://blog.music.aol.com/2012/11/13/justin-bieber-concert-hurricane-sandy-victims/

The above quote was taken from an article where it talks about how survivors of the storm Sandy have lost their homes, but somehow managed to save their Justin Bieber tickets. It is really sweet and this serves as a reminder to be thankful for what you do have and try to help out others who don't. It doesn't have to be money or a donation of some sort, but simply time spent playing games or having a simple conversation. Extend and be greater than yourself.

Breakfast

Hello sports fans! Morning to everyone from Chicago, IL! :) Some say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it gets your brain to wake up and the body's metabolism going as well. What happens when a person skips breakfast is they may feel groggy and tired later on and consume more food later on. Personally, when I have just a granola bar for breakfast along with a couple cups of coffee, I am hungry two hours later. The solution that works for me, even on the go or on public transportation, is to toast a whole grain bagel and put whatever you want on it. Also take a piece of fruit, whether it be a banana, apple, or pre-packaged fruit cup.

- Below is an article, in which, everyone needs to read:

http://health.yahoo.net/experts/dayinhealth/best-and-worst-breakfasts-your-health

- Question of the day: What is your typical breakfast on a daily basis? Does is differ on the weekends? Why?

Love and Hate Relationship

Human beings love it and hate it. It moves pretty fast and can drive people bonkers when it doesn't work right. What am I talking about here? Technology and all of its implications for a modern day society. Looking at my Yahoo! homepage, an article under the Technology section states "Consumer Reports names top 10 electronics of 2012" and then it makes me wonder why do we even need these devices to begin with. I mean really do you need a lame iphone (I am against everything Apple and in fact love my pcs and simple phone, which is an LG Saber), mp3 player, and a laptop? NO YOU DON'T! Get real ok because it gets me angry when I see homeless veterans and starving children on the streets in Chicago and I'm sure across the United States and Europe. Never mind bringing up the United States is in debt in the trillions and where are individuals getting the money to spend hundreds of dollars on new products? Please people WAKE UP. Just because you have the newest technological device, it doesn't mean you are better than everyone else. It just means you can AFFORD it when others CAN'T! The lesson here I'm trying to pass on is to care, love, and help out others. Don't hide behind your screen and buy the fanciest new "hot" item when the rest of the world is suffering from various ailments.  HAVE A HEART AND GET AWAY FROM TECHNOLOGY ONCE AND AWHILE! :) Thank you for reading and feel free to comment with any thoughts or opinions. Sorry if this sounds like another  vent. lol

Justin bieber - Never Say Never ( Lyrics )

Bears?? Really???

Hello everyone! Good morning and I don't have good news to report this morning. In Chicago, these past couple of days, it has been so windy that garbage cans and mops are getting taken away so easily. And it actually kind of funny because it is an uncontrollable force of mother nature and who knows what it will do next. But getting to the actual point of this post, the Chicago Bears didn't do so hot on Sunday night. We ended up losing 6 to 13 against the Houston Texans. I didn't watch the game because homework is more important, but I did get updates from my boyfriend while speaking with him on the phone. It's ok Bears, as long as you kick some booty next Monday! Chicago still loves you and as Justin Bieber says, "Never Say Never"!

Justin Bieber - Believe NEW [LYRICS] 2012

This is an inspiration to everyone in the world! Keep on keeping on no matter where you want to be! Dream big! I love you Bieber! <3

Living Without Sports

A weekend without sports is like a weekend without breathing. For the past two weeks, the circus has been at the Allstate Arena, therefore the Chicago Wolves haven't been playing at "home". Although having no weekend hockey games gives me time to get homework done, write my Torch articles, and spend time with my boyfriend, I do miss seeing my "Hockey Family", dancing to familiar pop music tunes, and overall having a blast without anything getting in the way. Currently, I'm listening to "Be All right" by Justin Bieber, yes, he's always on my mind. Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is that sports encompasses a person's entire life, if not most of it, because it is the dedication and love us sport's fans have for our teams. Whether it is wearing the jersey of choice, yelling as loud as you can, telling off a referee when a bad penalty call is made, or simply singing at the top of your lungs whenever your favorite song is played, celebrate being a sports fans and express that fan devotion loud and proud! <3

*Question for you dedicated readers: How do you celebrate a victory for your favorite sports team?

Best DAY Ever!

Hello again sports fans! This is a bit off topic, but it is related to social media and pop culture. Yesterday Justin Bieber and the lame person Gomez broke up! Yes, finally!! I celebrated by dancing around the house in joy and singing Bieber songs at the top of my lungs. He doesn't need her especially when she is a fame hog who just wants attention. All the Bieb needs are his Beliebers (I am one of them) and his friends/ family/ team that travels with him while he is currently on his Believe Tour. I can honestly hear Bieber fans all over the world celebrating this break up. The only downside is that SHE BROKE UP WITH HIM! Therefore, I never liked her before they became a couple and no there is no way IN HELL I would ever support her now. She is on my list of "hated" people and if he is heartbroken, Beliebers will go crazy on your ass girl! You got that. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO BREAK UP WITH THE ONE AND ONLY BIEB? Please I really would go and hide your face and never come out again. Thanks.....

Justin Bieber - As Long As You Love Me ft. Big Sean

Bieber! <3 Whoop!

President Obama's Victory Speech at McCormick Place in Chicago

Chicago! <3 President for four more years! :)

One Month Anniversary

Hello again. I never really elaborated upon the other big event that transpired today. My boyfriend Ron and I celebrated our one month anniversary. He picked me up at a stop on the Blue line going towards O'Hare and I bought him a little something, which was licorice and Sharpie markers, because he enjoys designing and everything artistic. It is really sweet when you have a person in your life, who really cares for you, and loves you no matter what. I'm speaking to anyone out there who has a significant other, whether you are straight, gay, bisexual, or transgender (I do support gay marriage, i don't care what you guys think: everyone SHOULD HAVE the right to marry whoever they want) and just be happy with your life. Love your significant other and have open communication with him or her or even if you love an object. The point I'm making is I love him and no one else can have him. Additionally, in case you're wondering, yes Ron is the guy who was pictured with me earlier in this blog. <3

- Overall, please love the people in your life, whether they are family, friends, or a husband / wife! The world needs more love!

This is a video I made for a media production class of mine and it is really funny. You might as well get a bowl of popcorn and a soda before watching. Enjoy sports fans! <3

Catching Up!

Hello folks! I've been kind of absent on this site and don't you worry because I'm back! :) Yesterday was a big day in the sense that it was Election Day and my boyfriend and I's one month anniversary. At 7:30 a.m. I walked to my local library to vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden with big coffee cup in hand. This was my first time voting and didn't know what to expect. However, I did ask questions and voted on the computer screen. It was pretty easy and people don't realize how important it is to vote. Obviously, the American people have spoken, a.k.a. mostly the middle class, and we wanted Obama to win the presidential election for the United States of America. Last night I did watch news coverage of the electoral votes and how won what state. Being a first time voter really opens your eyes as to how important getting your voice out there is. If you don't vote, then you have no right to complain about how OTHER people voted. I don't care if you didn't like either candidates, pick one of them in which you can TRY to relate to. Anyways, the point is voicing your opinion is important because who the president of the United States is will alter other countries as well when it comes to dealing with trade and business conducted for the betterment of everyone involved.

- Did you vote in this election? If you didn't, feel free to tell me why. Besides, we are all adults, I'm 21 and I'm sure other people can handle others' opinions.

Venting

Good morning everyone! Recently, I wrote an article about the lockout for the Chicago Wolves Booster Clubs: The Wolf Pack and it was about an update regarding the lockout. Yes, it is STILL going on! Come one people, wake up RIGHT NOW! Hockey fans want to see their favorite NHL team play with other hockey fans. So Mr. Gary Bettman, players, and NHLPA let's compromise already and get on with life!

- Question for you sports fans: How do you think the lockout could end? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Have a nice day folks!

"Opice"??

Good afternoon sports fans alike! Yes, more hockey news, because yes, there is no NHL season still. Blah......games are canceled through the end of November meaning that IF a season were to resume,it would only be three months long. Thanks a lot Mr. Gary Bettman; you need to be fired from you job and never show your face again in society. Do you know that us hockey fans are pissed off at you for TAKING AWAY the season when plenty of other leagues and teams play through contract negotiations? WHY must you be so ignorant to the fact that us hockey fans WANT  to see our favorite players playing the game they love?

Anyways, back to the task at hand, an African-American NHL player playing in the Czech Republic was called "Opice" or monkey in English. Why must race come into everything? People, WAKE UP, it is the 21st century and people of all kinds are around you. Accept it or go hide under a rock literally.

- What do you think about this issue?? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Chicago Wolves Hockey - Schroeder's Game-Winner Propels Wolves Past San Antonio

Chicago Wolves Hockey - Schroeder's Game-Winner Propels Wolves Past San Antonio - Saturday's end result

Up and Downs

Hello sports fans! Here I am and ready to talk about the weekend. The Chicago Wolves played on Friday away in Peoria, IL and we lost 4 to 1 because the 3rd period was horrible. I wasn't there, but heard from my hockey friends that the Wolves just sat back and really didn't take much action. Saturday we faced San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL and they gave us a battle. We were winning through out the game, but for some reason, we took a little coffee break during the second ish period and they tied the game 5 to 5. This is when fans got seriously into the game and the end result was an overtime win 6 to 5! Whoop! Whoop!

Come Sunday now, hockey players are just like normal people and get tired as well. We played pretty solid verses the Grand Rapids Griffins and if you EVER wear  a RED WINGS JERSEY to the Wolves home ice, that isn't cool ok. If you didn't realize, there is no NHL SEASON PEOPLE! I can't believe people are so dumb as to think "Oh well, since I can't support my normal NHL team, instead I'm going to support the AHL team and piss off fans of the other team" NO NO NO!! Just because I'm a Blackhawks fan, I DON'T support  the Rockford Icehogs a.k.a their AHL team.  Just because I'm a Chicago Wolves fan, I DON'T support our lame affiliate a.k.a Cansucks. Fyi, we lost in overtime due to a stupid penalty that a referee gave to Nathan Longpre. One point is better than earning nothing though.

The point I'm trying to prove is that when a hockey such as myself comes to the Allstate Arena, I really don't want to see Blackhawks, baseball t-shirts, golf apparel, "Dead Wing" jerseys, or any other jersey that is NOT a Wolves one ok. If you dare wear another jersey, then you damn well have a good reason to.

Good Morning!

Morning from Chicago, IL! <3 I will be posting later on today folks, with two hockey games and staying with friends as well over the weekend, life gets hectic! Go Wolves!!! :)

Hectic Week

Hello folks! :) I took a mini vacation from updating this blog, but don't worry because I'm back. This week was the Bieber concert (Tuesday), covered an event for the Torch on Wednesday, and normal student business such as reading, papers, and consuming lots of coffee. Maybe that why I'm so short, actually five feet to be exact. haha Anyways, not much has been happening in the sports realm except there was a poll that stated the most hated and liked players in the NFL. Jay Culter, the quarter back for the Chicago Bears, was ranked #2 for being the most hated quarterback. No way folks, please!! If voters provided a rationale for their logic, ok fine, but don't you dare say anything bad about Culter because he didn't do anything to you.

Cheating in Sports????

Good morning sports fans! As I'm finishing my mug of morning coffee and checking e-mails, there was a story on Yahoo! Sports about a football team, an NFL one at that, whose is under speculation by the league for the illegal use of a "illegal sticky substance". This is called cheating and no one should feel ok by doing this.

Chicago Wolves Hockey - Wolves Secure Shootout Win At Abbotsford

Chicago Wolves Hockey - Wolves Secure Shootout Win At Abbotsford

Away Games

Hello sports fans alike. This weekend was odd in the sense that there was no home hockey games. The Chicago Wolves played away in Abbotsford Heat aka Canaian team and Friday night we won 3 to 2 in a shoot out. I'll explain what a shoot out is for those who don't know. Basically in an average hockey game, there are three twenty minute periods and a five minute five-on-five play takes place if the score is still tied in regulation. If the score is still evened up after this sudden death overtime period, then a shoot out happens, in which, five players are picked from each team to shot one-on-one with the opponent's team goalie. Whoever makes the most shots during this time frame wins the game and typically there are no limits as to how many "shoot outs" can occur. As you can guess, when two good teams come together, sometimes a long game happens and be prepared to cheer for longer then expected.

On Saturday night, unfortunately, the Wolves lost 4 to 1 and it was in regulation as well. I've got be honest here, I didn't listen to the audio online becaue I had a date with my boyfriend. But taken into account both teams (Heat and Wolves) were on a winning streak before they faced each other and one team has to win and the other has to lose. But that doesn't matter because at least the Wolves won one game out of the dual-weekend faceoff. No team is perfect and that is something that all fans, not just hockey fans, have to accept.

- Any thoughts about facing a team back to back?? How do you maintain that energy both nights?

Howdy sports fans! It seems as if I've been posting links to the articles that have been published in the Torch a.k.a my college newspaper every week and this is just that.

Enjoy them and feel free to comment with any thoughts or opinions. Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your day! :)

Game Time!!

Hello sports fans around the world. I just finished editing a video for a media production course and finally am getting a chance to up-date this blog. Tonight is the Chicago Wolves second home game excluding the home opener on the 13th of this month. Ironically, today is a "hockey day" because I'll be  going from school straight to the arena with my boyfriend. I can't wait because there isn't a better way to end a productive day than to watch a good old fashioned hockey game. Tonight the Wolves take on the Peoria Rivermen at 7 p.m. and odds are that it won't be a crowded game because individuals have work/ school obligations during the week to take care of. Anyways, let's go Wolves and Hawks (whenever they start playing... I still have to support them though and hopefully the rest of the Chicagoland area will do the same) Later from the Windy City! :)

Lockout Update

Reading the comments below this article on Yahoo! are brutal. Such comments are "Who cares. They boycotted me over and over and over. I'm not going to bother with them anymore. My sweaters are going up on Ebay." and "Go ahead and kill a sport that was on life support anyway". WHAT?? Go and kill the sport because it's not as popular as football or baseball?? NO. Comments such as this are ignorant and make no sense because hockey fans are everywhere ok. Please....... give me a break and stay under that rock you've been under. If you ever say "kill a sport that was on life support anyway" a.k.a hockey, don't ever talk to me because I <3 the sport and no one can tell me different. Nor will I ever be friends with someone who bashes my favorite sport. People don't understand something, in which, they have no previous knowledge about and therefore SHOULDN'T make themselves sound like uninformed individuals. Learn about a topic first before objecting judgment upon it and be a critical consumer of knowledge at the same time. Thank you......
