Hello all you dedicate sports fans! I was just wondering if you have watched the Olympics or not because people rave about them because some of the most world famous athletes come together to participate in them. Sure, that is great, but also think about all the "outside" influences too. "Outside" influences such as the fans, potential security threats, Army individuals who are paid to be security guards essentially, the athletes and their training team, the marketing / advertising aspect, and finally the fact that the whole world is literally watching.
-The question of the day is:
* What is your reason for watching the Olympics? Media fascination? Celebrities? Let me know guys! Thanks.
This blog is dedicated to CRAZY ass sports fans and how life throws us for a loop!

Jay Cutler and Kristen Cavallari
In other news, the one and only Jay Cutler, who is the Chicago Bears quarterback will soon be a father. Kristen Cavallari is currently nine months pregnant with their first child and it is rumored to be a boy. Considering that she is celebrity who is know for taking part in a reality television show called " Laguna Beach" and Cutler being the Bears quarterback for what feels like forever, coming together and producing life is a beautiful moment. A fun fact of the day is that Laguna Beach is actually a town in California. I wish them all the best and hope the little boy will make a nice addition to their home in Chicago.

Jeffery Lupil
In other news, I am an avid watcher of the hit television show Dancing with the Stars and my dad's favorite dancer Cheryl Burke is currently dating Jeffery Lupil. He is an NHL hockey player and will be representing the Toronto Maple Leafs this upcoming season. This is very exciting because Burke has had her struggles and she deserves to find a man who can make her happy. I wish them all the best and the link to the article is posted below:

My Second Love
Hello again. Today I just felt like posting videos and less words because people these days prefer to see visuals and/or graphics along with worlds. So this is my attempt at trying to do that. Anyways, this video I made on Windows Movie Maker for my New Media and Technology course. The assignment was love and/or hate and it could be about any topic or issue you wanted to do. No, I'm not not afraid to come out with this. I'm a belieber, yes a fan of the one and only Justin Bieber. I'm not a little teenager or preteen, which his fans typically tend to be. I am a proud 21 year old Belieber who loves this man like a member of my own family.
The reason why I posted this was because I made it and reason number two is to show you dedicated readers another side of me besides loving sports and technology. If you don't like or have never heard of Justin Bieber before, here's a quick little synopsis. He is 18 years old, starting posting videos on YouTube at the mere age of 12 /13, choose to ultimately sign with Usher's label verses Justin Timberlake's recording label, has millions upon millions of fans on Facebook and Twitter, and finally has a heart of gold. If you have any more questions about him, please feel free to comment on here or send me an e-mail. Thanks everyone and please sit back with some popcorn to watch the video! :)
"Ableism"
Hello blogosphere! How are we doing today? The video above I made for a New Media and Technology course last semester. It is about "Ableism" and I'll tell you what exactly that is. According to Dictionary.com, "Ableism" is the"discrimination against disabled people" or in my own words, putting individuals with physical or mental disabilites down just because they aren't like you and can't perform the same tasks as fast as you may me able to. It does relate to sports because there are a few hockey photos that I took in there. Enjoy! :) Have a great day! Fyi, this is very personal to me because somebody in my immediate family does have a mental illness. Feel free to comment and let out some tears after you watch this. It is perfectly ok to express yourself no matter what the issue is!
Ps. In case you're wondering, the music that is playing in the background is called " Pray" by Justin Bieber. Below is a picture of it:

Puck Breaks Nabokov's Mask
Ouch! Well hockey is known for being a violent / bloody sport and this is an example of that. This video was posted on YouTube by AriSparkfist on May 7, 2011.

Hockey and More Hockey
Hello. Hockey season for the Chicago Wolves is literally three months away and ironically on Yahoo! (Yes I know I post article from them all the time, but only because that is my what I see when I log on to my computer), there was a hockey story that I typically haven't seen before. A 2004 NHL draft player Ladislav Scurko was handed a sentence of eight years for killing a referee. All I can say is wow.
Coming from personal experience of watching hockey, yes, referees aren't always "fair" when they hand out penalties for hooking or boarding, but that doesn't mean a player gets so angry to the point of killing him later on. This is a perfect example of how sports and violence correlate with each other and sometime the end result isn't so great such as in this case. What do you think out there? Read the article and let me know if you think Scurko should have gotten more then eight years or what your thoughts are in general pertaining to the article. Thanks and hope to hear from you. <3

"Rafting" and Violence
Hello to the sports blogosphere out there! I know it's been three days, but I 've been busy with relationship issues and friends. Anyways, back to rafting. While searching on Yahoo! today, I found this article about "Rafting" and that it involves tons of people in inner tubes in a body of water. Somehow this sports event, if you call it that, turned into a massive brawl and it got a bit out of hand when twelve people were arrested. The article is below if you want to read it. As always, thanks for reading my blog and we are up 250 views! You guys are the best. As long as I have dedicated readers, I will continue to keep posting content that is interesting and eye opening. If you ever want me to cover a topic that I haven't before, feel free to send me an e-mail at mruscitti@mail.roosevelt.edu. Good night from the amazingly stunning City of Chicago!

News News News :)
Hello sports lovers out there. Recently, the Chicago Wolves have signed some players who we have had in the past such as Brett Sterling and this is a big step in the right direction for us. Adding to that we also have a new coach and assistant coach meaning that hockey operations and our playing can only go up from here. Yes, I know that hockey season is still a couple months away, but just thought I'd share that with you dedicated readers out there. For those of you who are huge fans of whatever sport you watch, you know how this feels inside: pure joy and excitement. Until later, have a good night and take care of yourselves! <3

Police video of Chris Chelios arrest
And the not so good times as well. No one is perfect after all, not even hockey players.
Chicago Wolves' Chris Chelios
Yes, he did play for the Chicago Wolves as well. It was for about one season I think back in 2009. It was an honor to see him playing knowing that he has been around the NHL - National Hockey League- for years. This video I got from YouTube, but it was taken at the Allstate Arena, located in Rosemont, Illinois.

Wow, past Hawks players and present ones! What a great moment. :) Go Hawks!

Recent Hockey News... Hawks Related
Hello again folks out there! Tonight I just heard on ABC 7 news on normal television (my family doesn't have cable or dish) that Jake Chelios, the son of the famous and legendary hockey player Chris Chelios, was invited to join the Chicago Blackhawks training camp for the first time. He is 21 years old and attends Michigan State University. This is such an honor for him to be back in Chicago when he watched his father play for the Hawks as well. Finally, some news other than baseball or golf is on the local news in Chi town! :) Hockey is my favorite sport to watch, not play, after all. Go Hawks and Wolves! The link is posted below and feel free to comment if you'd like to. Thanks guys!

Baseball Dads in a Brawl
Hello my sports fans! Today I was on my Yahoo! homepage and the first article I saw dealt with dads watching their sons play baseball and a fight broke out after one dad wanted the other one to turn down his music. Some background information to know is that in all sports, there has to be a winner and a loser. Well, one dad was on the winning side and as you can guess, the other on the losing one. This is definitely an example of sports and parents taking the experience of cheering on their children too far.
Parents are supposed to model behavior for their children and the sons of these two fathers were probably watching this all go down as well as the rest of their little league baseball team. Is this what sports comes down to? I get that every parent wants their son or daughter to succeed in life or sports, whatever it may happen to be, but at what cost? When does modeling good behavior for children to look up to get looked past upon for something so stupid as playing music too loud? The entire point of dads or moms attending their children's sports events is to be their "cheerleader" and not to cause trouble afterwards while getting arrested.I'd like to know what you dedicated readers out there think after reading the article?
* How do you think the two fathers could have handled this situation in a better manner? Would it help if little league games had security? Thanks for reading and I look forward to reading your comments of any kind. :)
